One of thirty-nine litho views of financial institutions from the borders of an 1886 map, Philadelphia in 1886, by Burk & McFetridge. Depicts the Girard Bank building, which began life as the First Bank of the United States. Shows people on the sidewalk and a horse-drawn carriage passing by.

Reproduction of a tinted photograph showing the building Frank Furness designed for the Penn National Bank. Built in 1884 on the site of the house in which Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, the financial institution remained here until the early 1930s. The Declaration House was rebuilt on the site in 1975.
