Reproduction of a print depicting a variety of stores on the north side of Chestnut Street, from Third, The building without signs is where the Bank of North America began operations in January, 1782. Founded by Robert Morris, the bank was the first national bank in the United States.
Also shows signage indicating the following businesses: American Fire Insurance Co.; Timothy Abbott & Co., curriers; John Peterson, tanner and currier; Russell's Hat Store; P. J. Decker, lottery.
