Halftone reproduction of a photograph showing the famous PSFS building at the intersection of 12th and Market Streets. Opened in 1932 as the headquarters of the Philadelphia Savings Fund Society, the 36-story skyscraper was designed in the International style by architects George Howe and William Lescaze. A National Historic Landmark, the building is considered the first modern skyscraper in the United States.
It was converted into a Loews Hotel in 2000.
