Front cover of the 1873 annual report of the Church Home for Children, an orphanage affiliated with the Protestant Episcopal Church. Shows an illustration of the facade of the Home, which was incorporated in 1857. Its prior location was at 1609 Pine Street. Later, it moved to 58th and Baltimore Avenue.

Halftone reproduction of photograph showing the hospital facade fronting Broad Street in South Philadelphia. Philadelphia architect Edwin Forrest Durang designed the building, which was constructed in 1880. The institution was run by the Catholic Sisters of Saint Francis.

Illustration showing part of the accomodations for cats at the Hotel Felis. Administered by the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention and Cruelty to Animals, the institution served as a temporary shelter for family cats while their owners were away from home. The building subsequently housed the Morris Animal Refuge.
