Item 1, top:  Caption reads, "Cherry-tree at Pennsbury, Planted By Wm. Penn."  William Penn built a summer home called Pennsbury Manor, near Morrisville, PA, in 1683, but only lived there a few years,  This publication maintains that Penn planted a cherry tree at Pennsbury before moving to his town residence in Philadelphia.  Reproduction of an engraving for an unidentified newspaper, 12.5 x 14.5 cm, undated. 

Item 2, bottom:  Caption reads, "Tacony, as Seen From the Delaware."  Image shows a riverscape view of fishermen in boats on the Delaware River and the significant development of Tacony along the coast.  Reproduction of an engraving by William B. Gihon, for an unidentified publication, 20.5 x 13 cm, c. 1851.
