Signs indicate various commercial enterprises: Dr. Jayne's Philadelphia Arcade; Dr. Davidson's Arcade Baths; N.Y. Journal of Fine Arts; Bolivar House; Chestnut Street Theatre; Schenk's Pulmonik Syrup.
Caption reads: Showing the north side between Sixth and Seventh Streets. Two avenues penetrated Doctor Jayne's Arcade. On the second floor above the west avenue, Biddle's studio was located.
