Notes: "Store fronts in this busy thoroughfare offer many curiosities designed to attract passersby. Northward from a point outside the present Lit Brothers Department Store, a menagerie of ornamental signs is visible: an ostrich on the drapery store, and beyond it an elephant; the figure of Justice atop the cupola in the distance, and the eagles of a furniture company and Espen's lace emporium."--OPEP, p. 84.
