Item 1, top: Image of the University Library, on the West Philadelphia campus of the University of Pennsylvania. It was built in 1890, by architects Furness & Evans, in the Venetian Gothic style, and located at 34th Street, between Walnut and Spruce Streets. Today, it is the Fisher Fine Arts Library. Item 2, middle: Image of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, built in 1898, by architects Cope & Stewardson, in the English Baroque style, and located at 34th Street, between Sansom and Chestnut Streets. Today, it is the Silverman Hall of the Penn Carey Law School at UPenn. Reproduction of a photograph for an unidentified publication, 15.5 x 11.5 cm, undated (but c. 1900).
Item 3, bottom: Image of University of Pennsylvania's Houston Hall, the first student union in the country, built in 1894 by architects Frank Miles Day & Brothers, William Charles Hays, and Milton Bennett Medary. It is an example of the Collegiate Gothic style, a subgenre of Gothic Revival; it is located at 3417 Spruce Street.
