Item 1, top: Illustration of the Fletcher Public School, also known as Richard Henry Lee School (1913). In 1867, the building was constructed on the north side of Christian Street, west of Front Street. The building's architect was James Charles Sydney. Wood engraving from an unidentified publication. 15.1 x 13.7 cm.

Item 2, bottom: Illustration of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA), located on the southwest corner of Broad and Cherry Streets. This Second Empire style building was constructed between 1871 and 1876, after designs by Frank Furness and George Hewitt. Image shows horse-drawn vehicular traffic on Broad Street. PAFA remains the country's oldest functioning museum and school of fine arts. Wood engraving from unidentified publication. 15 x 13cm.
