Form includes candidate's essay subject, home state, residence in Philadelphia, duration of studies, age, and date of presentation. Handwritten in brown ink. Record includes an engraved vignette of the university's Ninth Street campus centered on sheet. Dated February, 1866. 19.3 x 24.5 cm.

Item 3, bottom right: Illustration of the St. Charles Borromeo Minor Seminary, Glen Riddle, Delaware County. Caption reads, "Preparatory Seminary, -- Glen Riddle." Opened in 1859, this site served for eleven years as the preparatory division of the Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. In 1871, the Preparatory Seminary was moved to the Seminary's new home on the sprawling Overbrook campus, located along Lancaster Avenue, just west of Philadelphia.
