Monochrome reproduction of a watercolor showing an inn on Lancaster Pike with a carriage parked in front and numerous people nearby. The General Paoli Inn was on the Revolutionary War battlefield in Chester County, Pa. where the Paoli Massacre took place, in 1777.

Exterior front and side view of a neglected building. Shows partly collapsed picket fence, a man standing in front of a water pump, and another in the shade beneath the porch roof. The Swan Tavern was also known as the Dove and Swan Tavern.
