Reproduction of a watercolor sketch by David J. Kennedy of a side-wheel paddle steamer with five flags. Text below the image reads: The Steamer "Trenton", was built at New York by Mr. Stiven in 1824, on April 4th 1825 she made her trial trip on the Hudson. For many years she ran on the Delaware carrying the New York passengers between Philada. Bordentown and Tucony. In 1865 she was transferred to the east end of the line, running from South Amboy to New York City. Shortly afterwards an accident befel her, she was thoroughly examined. condemned, dismantled & hauled to the Hoboken shore, where her timbers now rot in the mud. Captain Charles Hinkle, 41 years in active service. Sketched by D. J. Kennedy.
