Notes:
Wood engraving taken from an issue of Gleason's Pictorial showing the 1852 Triennal Parade of the Philadelphia volunteer fire department as it passed Logan Square. The Car of Liberty is ornamented at the front by a model of a large bird (eagle?) and is being pulled by a team of four horses, each with its handler. Holding the reins is a figure dressed as Lady Liberty who is holding aloft a large american flag. Following her is a procession of people holding banners. A crowd of onlookers gathers to watch, and flags are flying from the building behind them.
