Notes:
The Women's Centennial Music Hall and Garden, to give its full name, was situated at Broad and Master Streets, and adjoined the Edwin Forrest House. During the period of the Centennial Exposition (May 10th to November 10th, 1876) the music hall was the venue for sixty-three garden concerts given by Theodore Thomas, the first renowned American orchestral conductor.
The image shows pedestrian and equestrian traffic as well as horse-drawn carriages on Broad Street. The Edwin Forrest mansion adjoining the hall on the right of the image is still standing today.
