Item 1:  Newspaper article about a fire that damaged the 100-year-old Wolfenden Mansion at (then) 69th & Vine Streets, in Upper Darby.   The Wolfenden family were operators of a nearby shoddy mill on Indian Creek, in what was then part of West Philadelphia, now Upper Darby.  Article for an unidentified newspaper, 5.5 x 8 cm, undated.

Item 2:  First page of a hand-written letter from a Dr. John W. Eckfelt to a Mr. Taylor, about the Wolfenden Mansion, in Upper Darby.  [See the next item #pdcc3202 for page two of this letter.]  The subject matter is an attempt to answer an inquiry by Mr. Taylor, about a house that may have been originally owned by the Wolfendens, who operated a shoddy mill on the Indian Creek.  Dr. Eckfeldt lived in that area, and his reply speaks of two possible houses.  Since the Wolfendens once owned three mansions in that area, it is not known which house is the one being inquired about. Hand-written letter, 43 x 21 cm, December 5, 1920.
