Caption says the house was probably built between 1750 and 1760. It was situated on the West side of Second Street above Walnut Street.
William Logan (1717 - 1776) was the son of James Logan, Colonial Mayor of Philadelphia and the man who built Stenton as a country home. William inherited the family seat on the death of his father in 1751, but used Stenton as a summer retreat, preferring to live in his Philadelphia house the rest of the year.
