Item 1, entire page: Text and two images for a newspaper article. The complete title (half of which is continued in the next item, #pdcc03120) reads: "First Housing Projects Pay Dividends in Happiness." The article is about the successes of four Philadelphia housing projects, built between the 1930s-1940s: Hillcreek, at 510 Adams Avenue; the James Weldon Johnson Homes, at 25th & Norris Streets; the Tasker Homes, at 31st & Morris Streets; and the Richard Allen Homes, at 9th & Poplar Streets. Two images show residents at the Hillcreek homes--the top one an older couple on the porch and garden of their home, and the bottom one a young family in their living room. Text and reproductions of two photographs for an unidentified newspaper, 15 x 34 cm, c. 1947. The two photographs measure 15 x 13 cm (top), and 10 x 13 cm (bottom).
