Item 1, entire page: Image, accompanied by detailed text, of a corner view of the Dundas-Lippincott House (aka, the Yellow Mansion), at 1335 Walnut Street; there is also an inset portrait of its first owner, banker James Dundas. Caption reads, "' Yellow Mansion" a Link in History" On Its Site Was Vauxhall Gardens, Where Marquis deLafayette Was Entertained on His Second Visit to the United States--Once the Scene of a Great Riot." The mansion was designed for Dundas, c. 1840, by architect Thomas U. Walter. The building was demolished in 1909.
