Bird's eye view of the city emphasising the Delaware River waterfront and the vessels on the busy river. Sailboats congregate around the southern tip of Windmill Island, and the ferryboat linking Philadelphia with Camden approaches the port on the New Jersey side.

Shows notable landmarks including Blockly Almshouse in West Philadelphia, the covered Market Street Bridge, the Gas Works, Eastern State Penitentiary, Girard College, Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, Independence Hall, and Sparks Shot Tower. Also shown is Windmill Island on the Delaware River with the city of Camden, N. J. beyond.
