Depiction of a two-story gablefront house with two attic windows set into a pediment. Adjoining the house is a small rustic wooden structure with a covered porch. Other buildings are sketched in on the other side. A picket fence runs from the entranceway to the wooden fence bounding the property at right angles. A woman stands in the doorway. The artist's monogram is inscribed at lower right of the image accompanied by the following inscription: "original sketch. April 7. 1882. Since torn down."
