On June 3rd the Lovett Branch located in Mt. Airy went to the dogs!
Guests learned about greyhound rescue efforts with a presentation by Citizens Against Greyhound Racing and got to meet some of the adorable greyhounds.
You can view all the upcoming events at this branch and other braches all over the city in our Events section.

This is a big issue in the UK. There are lots of greyhounds who are put in rescue shelters or abandoned because the dog no longer is able to compete in dog racing.
Well done on bringing this issue to be noticed by the public. Nice dogs. :)

my personal opinion about "Citizens Against Greyhound Racing" is that its very important, i mean everybody knows that dogs are our friends (and sometimes family member) and NOT something to bet on. Really good to know that there are some people which are trying to educate about the topic. keep on the good work

Hi
Nice story - it IS important that rescue charities profiles are raised, but more importantly that people make the right choice when asking themselves - breeds like greyhounds require an owner that wants to look after them for the entire time they are "on this earth" - and not just until they are no-longer racing (assuming they're racing in the first place of course).
