This week marks the launch of the Languages and Learning Center at Parkway Central Library, a center dedicated to supporting the individual learning goals of Philadelphia’s adults.

For the past several months, we have piloted relevant and engaging programs for adult learners throughout Philadelphia in the areas of adult basic education (ABE), English language learning (ELL), world language learning, and digital literacy. Here’s what our participants had to say about the programs they took part in:

"Participating in the Beginner Spanish Learning Circle has expanded by vocabulary and helped me with my interactions in Spanish (and with people in general). I’ve made new friends and met new people. I will definitely be back for the Intermediate Spanish Learning Circle in the fall." – K.T. (participant)

"Leamos has helped me so much. I have lived my entire life without being able to read, and it's been hard. Leamos has helped me read and fill out the forms at the doctor's office. Now, for the first time, I'm able to recognize the mail that comes to my house." – T.A. (program graduate)
