Last year we announced a new digital resource for digital learning focused on tech skills called Treehouse. While Treehouse was embraced by some eager to learn coding and web design, we've come to the difficult conclusion that our budget will not allow us to continue with Treehouse into 2015.
It's always tough for us to chose not to renew a resource, but thankfully, the Free Library's Digital Learning collections are deep enough to keep supporting you in your study. Take a look at Universal Class, where you can take hundreds of self-paced online courses led by real instructors. Many courses in Universal Class even offer accredited Continuing Education Units. For those specifically interested in the cutting edge web design and coding courses offered through Treehouse, take a look at Code Academy and Kahn Academy. We refer many students to these free resources through our Digital Learning Portal.
If you are currently working on a course in Treehouse, you may choose to continue as an individual subscriber. Students and active military personell can join for $9/month. Treehouse offers other subscription options for the general public as well.
Please stay tuned for more updates to our services and offerings.
