C-SPAN's Digital Tour Bus Visits Free Library

By Michelle S. RSS Fri, October 1, 2010

This week, the Parkway Central Library welcomed C-SPAN's Digital Tour Bus for a morning of civic education and exploration for library users and students from Philadelphia's Math, Science, and Civics Charter School. Featuring laptop computer stations, high-definition televisions, and mobile devices, the C-SPAN Digital Tour Bus is an interactive educational experience with the goal of providing resources to enhance thought and discussion of government and public affairs.

In addition to being a federal depository, the Free Library is committed to civic literacy and outreach, helping people register to vote and hosting local political debates and events with notable political leaders like President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden (both Senators at the time), Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.
