A bit gimmicky with the multi-colored ring war, but I'll pick up the sequel.

Without reading all of the other Lantern series, the plot is murky at best. (I've read all of the other lantern series, so it wasn't a problem for me...but rabid fans are not the only audience, and should only be catered to so far)          

Exceptional in that it doesn't just regurgitate the same tired photos in a different order - mostly new material throughout.

Heavy-handed with the "Noooo...what are you doing with my body!?!?!?" schtick, but balanced out by a coherent and not overly large storyline.

Exceedingly repetitive (EIGHT separate photos of a giant Liberty Bell?!?), long on meaningless adjectives and short or details. I also strongly suspect several of the photos are mislabeled, but don't really care enough to check.

Unconnected but fun          

Good structure and interesting story, nice to see some focus on minor characters.          

A lot of characters I was unfamiliar with detracted from my enjoyment of what was an interesting story.          

A collection from the 60's and 70's - nostalgically interesting because of the changes in artistic style and story development and for the culturally dated references.

Hard to be a league book when the only two characters in 90% of the book are Star-girl and Martian Manhunter.          

To many missing story elements caused by crossovers to be enjoyable, or even really understandable

Other than a few odd superlatives thrown around - 'greatest' nickname? - this is a good overview - not to heavy on any one era or player, and with many images I haven't see before.

Curio piece, really. A half length graphic starring the titular Docs, an old solo story for each of them, finished off with a random pair of Namor stories??

Fine for what it is, a 1930's detective story. Interesting for its predictions about a coming US-Japanese conflict. Very annoying for its repetitious use of peoples names. Every conversation involves reading the names of the participants a few dozen times - unnecessary and distracting.

Short, mostly autobiographical fiction pieces excerpted from Ludwig writings. A memorable voice, a penchant for the bittersweet. and writing in a time period on the distant edge of living memory makes for an enjoyable read.
