For the prophecy dragonets, escaping imprisonment is becoming a real pastime. They've made their way out of a secluded cave, the Sky Kingdom combat arena, the Kingdom of the Sea, and now they're on their way to the rainforest to reunite Glory with her tribe, with the hope that they will not be captured and locked up yet again! Fortunately, the Rainwing tribe is unlike any other tribe they've ever visited. After a slight misunderstanding during which some of our heroes are put to sleep with tranquilizer darts, we realize that these peaceful dragons just want to relax and enjoy all the good things life in the rainforest has to offer. But is this paradise as perfect as it seems? To date, Clay and Tsunami have had somewhat disappointing reunions with their tribes. Will Glory's experience be different? Will she be able to find her family, and finally find a place where she fits in and her purpose is clear?
I think this is the best Wings of Fire book yet! I absolutely love Glory and her tale is chock full of the suspense, mystery and adventure we've come to expect from Sutherland's stories. And though I think fans already suspected that our favorite, deadly, sarcastic Rainwing was capable of much more than anyone thought possible, The Hidden Kingdom shows us, and all of Pyrrhia, just how much more. You'll definitely want to read The Dragonet Prophecy and The Lost Heir prior to reading this third book in the Wings of Fire series, which follows the path of Glory, and the audiobook is definitely my preferred version (though the graphic novel, with full color illustrations, is excellent too).
