The Apple of Our Eye: Beatrix Potter
Culinary Literacy Center at Parkway Central Library
***Please note, registration is required!***
In 2024, the Free Library of Philadelphia welcomed a new piece of art by author, illustrator, and conservationist Beatrix Potter. This untitled work depicts a pair of rabbits gathering apples in an orchard. To celebrate this new addition to the Free Library’s collections, members of The Beatrix Potter Society will join us alonside chef Edward Bottone as he introduces a pair of popular Victorian recipes for apple-based desserts in the Free Library’s Culinary Literacy Center. Under Chef Bottone's guidance, attendees will assemble these delicious treats, and while the desserts bake, the artwork will be unveiled in the Rare Book Department. Dessert and a copy of the recipes will be available after the viewing.
The event will be recorded and made available online.
