Contract writing is something many established authors shy away from or only do pseudonymously, but Jim Butcher knocks this out of the park, earning credit for both him and the Spider-man franchise.

It's hard to ignore the thematic shattering caused by repeated interactions of our main characters with Boba Fett, Darth Vader etc., but if you can succeed in doing so the stories are fun.

There's only so many times you can mine the "Atlantis has secrets" storyline. It is fast approaching Superman -level ridiculousness (Look, more survivors from the doomed planet we spent decades insisting had no other survivors!)

Perhaps it would rate better after a second reading, due to the nature of the tale, but there are to many others out there to give this one a second pass.

Read based solely on the authors reputation and it did not disappoint. A twisty trip down a suburban London street brings an air of impending doom seeping out of the pages.

The preachiest and most revisionist of the new titles. Bail Organa - a founding member of the rebellion, is shunted aside and given no credit for raising and influencing his adopted daughter. Leia had to 'choose' to join the rebellion, because it's her life DAD, and you can't tell me what to do.

One of the most insane collections I've ever seen. Not because of the 'yet again' origin tale; not for the new, unestablished, and ridiculous antagonist; not for the 'yet again' alteration to Trevor's character (he isn't even an officer now)  or for the hackneyed 'everything you know is WRONG' ending.
This collection is insane because it was compiled by an OCD lunatic who can only apparently tolerate segregated numbers.  1,3,5,7,9,and 11 are in this volume.  Issues 2,4,6,8,10,12, and 14 are in another volume. And for good measure issue 13 is completely missing, because one mental illness wasn't enough, triskaidekaphobia had to be thrown into the mix.

Easily the worst Constantine collection I've ever encountered.

Not a strong beginning, particularity with the Swamp Thing crossover.

Constantine is at his best in the UK, when half the book takes place in the South Pacific it drags.

Two long story arc bound together. A fairly interesting bit with some Neo-Nazi protagonists is muddied by unexplained back-story that motivates the characters in the first half. The second Held much more promise, which made its fall that much worse - mysterious antagonist good, troubled priest good, eerie locations good, actively and aggressively bi-sexual Constantine NOT good.

Constantine one-shot elevated by an excellent author

Good collections of short run (2-4 issue) story arcs, not needlessly complicated by an overarching narrative.

Watching JC sink into homeless depression - unexpected but entertaining.
