Slightly out of date legally, but entirely relevant culturally. Read t olearn more about how corporations and lawyers - with the willing aid of Congress -  stifle creativity and punish artists.

Not a book for everyone.  Short stories interspersed between chapters of an overarching premise make for a difficult but rewarding read.

It's a bit of a cheat to crib my own review from another Rollins novel, but everything stands - Another of Rollins' stand-alone stories before he developed an ongoing series. Enjoyable in comparison to the series work, since unlike those globe-spanning volumes these early works are  - while no smaller - more intimate due to the singular settings.

Escape from a hot summer day with adventure at the bottom of the world. Certainly not a unique premise, but ably done.

My least favorite of Rollins' books. Still enjoyable, but the Deus Ex Machina ending is something he has thankfully moved away from in his latter works.

I personally loved it, but I enjoy overly technical digressions into the intricate inner working of tax policy.  Your experience may vary.

Good story in a good setting, but the third act goes squirrelly and drags down the overall read.

  • Full wolf moon by Child, Lincoln,
    ★★☆☆☆

Reviewed by Robert N on Jul 17, 2017

The premise was solid and the story was tight, but there was just something off about the voice of the main female character. Every line was more suited to a bad soap opera than to thriller fiction. Add in some odd monologuing and a resort director who disappears as a character halfway through the story and you have the worst entry in this series.

I've torn through several alcoholic memoirs recently and while this one is entertaining and revelatory in spots it seems to drag more than others. For Damaged Gay Memoirists, David Sedaris is the better bet for consistent entertainment.

Portions will make you laugh out loud but the payoffs are to few and to far apart. The lack of an index or table of contents is annoying (particularly when trying to craft a coherent review) but the two stories that stick the most in the mind are the first and the last. Whether this reflects wise choices on the part of the author and editor or merely the uneven composition of the book is left to you to judge.
