Note Regarding Tax Credit

It is the sole responsibility of the donor to determine the value of a contributed item; Free Library of Philadelphia and Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation staff members are unable to assign a value to the donated item(s).

If a donor wishes to receive a tax deduction on donations of materials valued at $5,000 and above, the IRS requires an independent, third-party certified appraisal and the completion of IRS form 8283.

Should a donor require the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation to sign IRS form 8283 or for more information regarding In-Kind gifts, please contact the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation at giving@freelibrary.org or 215-567-7710.

The Impact of Your Gift

Trina grew up in the projects and often made the 30-minute trek to the Parkway Central Library while being chased by bullies. She sought out the Library as a safe haven and depended on it to satisfy her youthful curiosity through programs and books. Today, Trina is an administrator of a health center and oversees the entire staff of doctors and nurses, and she credits the Library as helping her become successful in life.
