Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation Community Impact Awards

Celebrating those making a difference in Early Childhood Literacy across Philadelphia.

We are pleased to announce the presentation of the Community Impact Awards on September 20, 2023 at the Parkway Central Library.

Representatives from the African American Children's Books Project, Barbershop Books, Joyful Readers, Philibros, Reading Allowed and Read 2 Succeed Philadelphia will receive their awards from Mayor Jim Kenny and Free Library leadership.

The Community Impact Awards recognize direct service organizations and philanthropists that are advancing areas of community service central to the mission of the Free Library. These six groups represent excellence in the work so many organizations and individuals are doing in the area of Early Childhood Literacy. We are proud to honor them with the inaugural Community Impact Awards.
