Notes: This miniature precedes the devotional text known as the Psalter of St. Jerome. This text is a selection of Psalm verses with penitential themes compiled by Prudentius Trecensis (bishop of Troy, ca. 844-861). The manuscript was illuminated in the workshop of the Bruges illuminator Willem Vrelant (fl. 1449-1481). Vrelant is considered one of the most influential illuminators active in Bruges during the third quarter of the fifteenth century.
