Folio Number: 151v
Original Year/Month/Day: June 1548

Notes: This image shows the first antiphon of the feast of St. Jerome (Sept. 30). This is the only historiated initial in the manuscript and it depicts the patron saint of the college for which the manuscript was made.

The colophon at the end of the manuscript provides the information that this antiphonary was made at the Monastery of Belém in 1548 at the request of John III of Portugal, who gave the book to the College of St. Jerome. Lewis E 221 and 222 both contain the same colophon and so must be part of a set of liturgical manuscripts that constituted the donation.
