Notes: This initial begins the Introit for the Commemoration of St. Peter, "Nunc scio vere ..." (Now I know for certain). Although slightly later, the style of illumination recalls that of William de Brailes, one of only two known artist working in England in the thirteenth century. De Brailes was responsible for the illumination on another manuscript in the Free Library's collection (Lewis E 29).
