Are you a high school student who is passionate about your community? Do you care about big issues such as racism, inequality, and injustice? Sign up for the library’s new Social Justice Symposium program for teens this summer and you will learn, think, and talk about what matters to you, to other community members, and to our society as a whole. The Symposium is a day of discussions and workshops on social justice issues. We will kick off the day with a keynote talk by author Renee Watson at 11:00 A.M. After eating lunch together, we will break into smaller groups to explore different aspects of social justice through workshops and discussions led by adult mentors and community leaders. 

In preparation for the Social Justice Symposium, teens can participate in book discussions at the Frankford, Haverford, and Philadelphia City Institute branches.
