Gianna Scipione Author Visit with Teddy, the Therapy Dog
Children's Department at Parkway Central Library
Cost: FREE
Meet the author of Brave Buddy's Big Mission and get to meet Teddy, a therapy dog.
Gianna Scipione writes stories that wag their tails straight into your heart. Inspired by the real-life facility dog at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Brave Buddy's Big Mission is Gianna's heartfelt -and slightly slobbery-debut picture book about courage, comfort, and the healing power of connection. Buddy may not have magic powers, but with a wag of his tail and a nudge of his nose, he knows just how to make a tough day a little brighter. With a background in early childhood education and a commitment to quality and equity, Gianna brings both passion and purpose to everything she creates.
Teddy, a very experienced therapy dog will also be here with his handler. You'll have the opportunity to spend time with Teddy during the program. Teddy's birthday is December 6th, he LOVES pup cups (especially from Igloo on South Street) and tennis balls, he has been a therapy dog for two years, his favorite books are those about dogs (and sometimes cats) and he is an Eagles fan!
This event will take place in The Storyhour Room and there will be a select number of signed books distributed.
