Semblance and Resemblance: Tiberino and Her Inspirations | Exhibition
First Floor Gallery West at Parkway Central Library
This exhibit showcases the works of celebrated Philadelphia artist Ellen Tiberino and her late mother, the groundbreaking Ellen Powell Tiberino (1945–1992). Through mosaic, pencil, paper, and pigment, the two Ellens captured the spirit and likenesses of their world—creating works that embody both semblance and resemblance. This exhibit delves into their creative practices and the environments that shaped them, offering a deeply personal yet universally resonant view of art, family, and enduring inspiration.
The exhibit will be on view through Friday, September 26 at Parkway Central Library in the First Floor Gallery West during Parkway Central's open hours, with related library programming and A/V resources with Ellen Tiberino and Ellen Powell Tiberino telling their stories in their own words.
