Altered Consciousness: A Film Series with EPR
Education Philosophy and Religion Department at Parkway Central Library
Join us in the Montgomery Auditorium at Parkway Central Library for our first film screening in this series!
This series will feature screenings and discussions of movies that explore the theme of altered consciousness: hallucinations, dreams, memory. Screenings will take place monthly from August 2025-May 2026 and will be followed by a community discussion of the film and how it relates to the theme.
The film for August will be Altered States (1980), a science fiction horror film directed by Ken Russell. The story explores altered states of consciousness and is inspired by experimentations on sensory deprivation and psycho-active intoxicants. Screening will begin promptly at 5:30 to ensure time for discussion.
