Learn how to make traditional Korean kimchi! Join us as we delve into the tradition of Korean fermentation and the art of making kimchi - a traditional side dish of salted and fermented vegetables, such as napa cabbage and Korean radish. In this hands-on class, you will learn the history and cultural significance of this Korean staple and experience teh joy of crafting your own delicious and authentic kimchi. All materials will be provided.
By the end of this class, you will not only have a deeper appreciation of the world of Korean fermentation, but you will go home with your very own homemade kimchi to enjoy and share.
This program is offered by Cultured Pear, artisanal crafters specializing in preserving cultural traditions through food and community. We focus on hands-on experiences and fostering connections through whole foods and primitive technology. We prepare and teach traditional cooking bridging Eastern and Western cultures by promoting seasonal and slow food movement.
