Power Politics: An Oral History Series
Social Science and History Department at Parkway Central Library
Room 131/132
Alfred (Alfie) Pollitt, composer, producer, and songwriter - Power Politics, an oral history series organized by Scribe Video Center, showcases the voices and strategies of organizers, activists, and leaders from Black, Puerto Rican, Asian American, and other marginalized communities. These interviews, conducted by high school and college students trained in oral history and documentary techniques, highlight the resilience and ingenuity of historically disenfranchised communities striving for political empowerment.
Each week will feature a different person being interviewed. In this session we'll have composer, producer, and songwriter Alfred (Alfie) Pollitt. We'll show the interview Scribe did to Mr. Pollit and then have a discussion about it with him and Scribe's staff.
