Black History Month Vinyl Listening Session – African American Broadway Soundtracks
Music Department at Parkway Central Library
Saturday, February 22, 2025
10 AM – 12 PM
Parkway Central, Music Department
Parkway Central's Music Department is offering a wonderful opportunity to explore the significant contributions of African American artists to Broadway history! February, being Black History Month, is a perfect time to highlight shows like The Wiz, Dreamgirls, and Sophisticated Ladies, all of which represent key milestones in African American culture on the stage.
The opportunity to listen to these soundtracks on original vinyl recordings adds a special touch. You are invited to experience the rich sound quality and historical context that vinyl offers. These records can usually be played in the department on our listening stations, while using headphones.
