A Celebration of African-American Luminaries and Influencers
Lillian Marrero Library
Many African Americans have been at the forefront of invention, culture and the scientific and artistic advancement of American society. We will chronicle some of their stories through a series of musical tributes. The Renaissance Sextet, led by Leon Jordan Sr., will perform live, offer insights on the inspiration of the music you will hear and host a brief Q&A after the performance.”
This concert was made possible by the American Federation of Musicians Local 77 and the Music Performance Trust Fund.
