No Home To Go To: Diaspora of the Baltic Nations Exhibition
Parkway Central Library
No Home To Go To explores the varied experiences of displaced persons from Europe’s Baltic nations, including Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The exhibition spans three stages of the Baltic displaced persons’ narrative: pre-migration, offering an introduction to the events and circumstances which compelled the refugees to leave their Baltic homelands; migration, spanning refugees' flight from their Baltic homelands and life in the displaced persons camps; and post-migration, examining refugees’ subsequent immigration and settlement in the United States and countries around the world. No Home To Go To is a touring exhibition presented in conjunction with the Balzekas Museum of Lithuanian Culture and commemorates the 70th year since thousands of displaced persons fled westward in the last months of World War II to escape the Nazi and Soviet occupation of their war-ravaged Baltic homelands.
No Home To Go is on display from Monday, June 22 through Sunday, August 30, 2015 in the West Gallery on the second floor of Parkway Central Library.
