College and test prep workshops, hosted by Field Teen Center in partnership with The Alexander Advantage, will return to the Free Library for the 2024–2025 school year. This free series is for high school students up to age 18 and will be held at Parkway Central Library as well as virtually. Virtual sessions will be accessible on the @freelibraryteencentral YouTube channel.

Fall 2024 Sessions
Fall workshops will explore paying for college with both in-person and virtual sessions.
- Saturday, October 12, 2024: 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. → Financial Aid Prep for Teens and Parents (Virtual)
- Saturday, November 9, 2024: 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. → Scholarships 101 for Teens (Room 108)
- Saturday, December 21, 2024: 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. → Meet Your College Funding Experts (Room 131/132)
Spring 2025 Sessions
Spring workshops will dive deeper into the SAT, a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States. In addition to instruction on each test section (Reading, Writing, and Math). Additionally, there will be two proctored, digital practice exams. Students who attend all five in-person SAT workshop sessions will receive a $10 gift card.
- Thursday, January 9, 2025: 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. → Digital SAT Pre-Proctored Exam (First Floor Training Lab)
- Saturday, February 1, 2025: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. → SAT Reading (Room 131/132)
- Saturday, March 1, 2025: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. → SAT Writing (Room 131/132)
- Saturday, April 5, 2025: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. → SAT Mathematics (Room 131/132)
- Thursday, May 8, 2025: 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. → Digital SAT Post-Proctored Exam (First Floor Training Lab)

You can also get SAT Prep through Homework Help Online, a free resource that you can access from our Digital Learning portal with your library card. Live tutoring is available daily in English or Spanish from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 midnight. This resource is available for students in grades K–12, college, and adults!
