LEAP Teen Leadership Assistants
LEAP offers K–12 out-of-school time programming that fosters an inclusive, informal learning environment for children, teens, and families with accessible learning activities that build on life skills, literacies, and wellness.

During the 2025-2026 School Year, LEAP:

  • Is available at Free Library locations throughout Philadelphia
  • Is offered during the school year at no cost — and no registration is required to participate
  • Promotes a love of reading and literacy
  • Introduces hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) programming
  • Offers free homework assistance
  • Is a drop-in program — caregivers are responsible for their child's safety and behavior

LEAP advances teen and adult workforce development by employing After-School Leaders and Teen Leadership Assistants through the academic year. These roles support youth learning at neighborhood libraries and engage in professional and life-skills workshops, as well as offering in-person homework assistance.
