Award-winning novelist Louise Erdrich explores the cultural issues facing modern-day Native Americans and Americans of mixed heritage. Challenging and prolific, Erdrich is the author of Love Medicine, Tracks, The Master Butchers Singing Club, and The Painted Drum, and is the recipient the Pushcart Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award. Her new novel, The Plague of Doves, takes place in the haunting lands of North Dakota where many of her earlier works are set.
