"Lulu on the Bridge," Paul Auster's directing debut, played at the Cannes film festival in 1998. Starring Harvey Keitel, Mira Sorvino and William DeFoe, it is the story of the love and magic shared between a jazz saxophonist and an aspiring actress. Auster is the author of The New York Trilogy, The Music of Chance and Mr. Vertigo, among a substantial list of other novels, including his latest, The Book of Illusions.
