Knighted in 1995, Sir Martin Gilbert is the official biographer of Sir Winston Churchill and one of the leading historians of our time. His major works include histories of British politics in the 20th century, of both World Wars, and of the founding of modern Israel. The Righteous tells the story of the “Righteous Gentiles,” brave individuals throughout occupied Europe, who hid, protected and helped Jews during the Holocaust.
