Patti Smith began publishing her poetry in the 1970's. She is the author of Witt, Wild Leaves, Seventh Heaven and Patti Smith Complete: Lyrics, Notes and Reflections, which stand among numerous volumes of her poems and published lyrics. Smith will read some of her poetry and discuss her work as a musician, and (in her first public performance with her daughter) will play songs by John Lennon, in honor of his 63rd birthday.
