Michael Cunningham is the author of The Hours, a novel which won the Pulitzer Prize and PEN/Faulkner Award and was adapted into an Academy Award-winning film starring Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, and Julianne Moore. A House at the End of the World, an earlier novel, was also made into a film starring Colin Farrell and Sissy Spacek. His other novels include Golden Days, Flesh and Blood, and Specimen Days. In By Nightfall, the carefully constructed world of a successful Manhattan couple is threatened by the unexpected arrival of a beautiful, beguiling, and wayward family member.
